IMechE is a membership body with over 120,000 members in 140 countries, they have been at the heart of the mechanical engineering profession since 1847.
To register and show competence as a member you must learn and evidence experience against five generic competencies set by the Engineering Council (UK-SPEC)
UK-SPEC
The UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC) describes the value of becoming registered as an Engineering Technician (EngTech), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng).
It details the requirements that have to be met in order to gain these qualifications, and explains the steps necessary to achieve professional registration with the Engineering Council. DC Pro offers training courses that have been mapped to UK-SPEC and the IET and IMechE Competencies. Please see each course to see which attributes it has been mapped against.
Attendance on these courses can contribute to your demonstration of Initial Professional Development (IPD).
