Wider use of emergent technologies predicates that network energy consumption is on the rise. Network components are one of the major energy consumers within data centers, and the topology and traffic load have significant impact on overall energy consumption. Speeds may well be increasing to enable new technologies but the power and operating costs associated with these advancements are rising too.

This panel will explore the pivotal role that networks have to play when greening the data center, and what practices and architectures can be implemented to increase efficiency and consolidate resources, whilst working with limited network power budgets.
