Fireside chat: Are we at the end of overcooling?
This broadcast will be streaming live at 10am ET on the 19th of July
In order to maximize efficiency, data centers need to spend less energy cooling their servers. However, a large number of operators still overcool their facilities, wasting significant amounts of energy and costing revenue. So why is this the case, and what is the future of overcooling?
During this episode, Dustin Demetriou, Vice Chair of ASHRAE TC 9.9 IT Subcommittee and former TC 9.9 Chair will explore the ASHRAE thermal guidelines and provide clarity on the recommended versus acceptable limits debate. This discussion will also consider whether overcooling will persist in the future, and the factors that are hindering operators from turning the thermostat up.
