A guide to understanding top-down DCIM, and why it matters
Panel: Sustainability at the Edge - Is Edge the solution or the culprit in the data center sustainability challenge?
This episode is now available to stream on-demand using the form below.
Many fear that the roll-out of edge could translate to more power usage, more waste, and more environmental impact. However, there is the school of thought that edge computing may open up new opportunities to actually help save the environment by bringing data closer to the customers trying to access it. With green credentials now top of most organizations’ agendas, as well as the need for data to be processed closer to the source, we look at how the imperative for sustainability will play out at the edge.
Drawing on lessons learned from a recent sustainability survey of enterprises commissioned by Schneider Electric, in this panel experts explore ways to optimize sustainability in edge data centers in order to satisfy growing demands. Examining the gap between sustainability programs for core and distributed IT, our panel will debate what new models for efficiency will come to the fore as workloads increasingly move out to the edge.
