Hello and welcome to the new and improved DatacenterDynamics. My name is Max, and I write the news here.
For the past month, we’ve been getting used to the website you see today. And it really is better – more beautiful, more user-friendly and more focused – and incidentally, we’ve also dropped the ‘Focus’ title from our magazine, leaving simply ‘DatacenterDynamics’.
In order to build this platform, various parts of the company had to come together - from analysts at DCD Intelligence to event organizers at DCD Converged and teaching staff at DCPro.
And then there’s our stellar editorial team. They speak six different languages and cover every major data center market, from New York to Singapore. Most of them have been writing about IT for decades. All of them hold themselves to the highest standards of quality and journalistic independence.
New and improved
With the redesign, we’ve changed the way we present editorial content - all features, news and opinion pieces will now be attached to one of the five color-coded ‘tracks’. These will be instantly familiar to anyone who has ever visited a DCD Converged event. Every track includes between four and six sub-categories, dealing with clearly defined subjects like storage, cooling or security software. The aim is to get you to the content you want in just two clicks.
You might also notice tiny RSS buttons dotted around the site. Click them to save a permanent feed of the stories that interest you the most.
The new design allows us to use more images, share more video and publish more blogs. It will also look great on tablets and smartphones – something the old website was struggling with.
We’ve also changed the DCD account system - you’ll have to register if you want to read more than 25 stories a month. The process gives you the opportunity to subscribe to any of our newsletters, and order a free print issue of the magazine.
And if you don’t like any of this - you can tell us, using the newly added ‘Comments’ box present on every story. We promise to take feedback very seriously. Trolls will be rehabilitated.
It took blood, sweat and tears, but if you’re reading this - it means we managed to launch this thing. Now, it’s time to write some news.
