The on-prem data centre is relied on still by the majority of companies in Australia, New Zealand and beyond to play some role in their data processing, housing and distribution. As indicated at previous DCD conferences, announcement of the death of the on-prem data centre seems premature. This creates new challenges in all established markets to ensure the armada of in-house data centres are ready for the demands of the new digital era, and opportunities to demonstrate innovation in keeping them running.
