With an extensive list of technological developments disrupting the industry including cloud, IoT, mobility, ‘Open’, and the ever present threats from malware, viruses, cyber attacks and shadow IT, it is easy to overlook transformations at the design level right at the heart of the IT ecosystem. Key to understanding these transformations is the example set by the new generation of mega-scale data centers and the innovations they are taking across the entire IT ecosystem, from top level of IT strategy down to the design and operational level of IT and facilities.

“DCD Converged Hong Kong convenes various stakeholders in the industry, delivering an accurate microcosm of the industry. I am looking forward to being part of such a gathering as it gives one a better picture of the impact current trends have on the full-stack ecosystem. This is vital for IT professionals to better understand and foresee the direction the entire ecosystem is heading in as a whole in the years to come,” shared Tommy Gao, IDC Platform-automation team leader, Tencent.

Tommy Gao will be sharing a case-study on the “Tencent data center automation platform” at DCD Converged Hong Kong as part of the conference’s focus on issues of facility design and build. He will be joined by other key speakers such as Leo Chen, Alibaba and Oliver Jones, Chayora, giving a clear and in-depth understanding of how technologies like automation, and cloud are shaping the more “basic” or fundamental layer of the IT Stack.

On 9 November 2016, DCD will bring together 450 senior professionals from the regional data center and IT industry. Reaching a wide spectrum of stakeholders in this industry including end-users, colocation and cloud providers, consultants and vendors, the event – DCD’s seventh in Hong Kong – will welcome expert speakers and panellists to drive forward the debate on the critical issues.

DCD Converged Hong Kong is part of the inaugural Hong Kong Data Center Week featuring highlights such as a HGC Global Data Centre Visit as well as the excitement and glamour of the 3rd APAC DCD Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner.
