This year’s opening plenary panel at DCD Europe, which is Europe’s most important gathering of data center scale, IT operators will challenge the industry on how to deal with unrelenting and exponential growth in data processing requirements being driven by cloud, IoT and an increasing reliance on pervasive computing. With a capacity audience of 2,000 senior professionals converging on Old Billingsgate in the heart of the City of London, the scene is set for full two days of knowledge sharing and networking.

Microsoft to make major announcement

Kushagra Vaid, GM, Azure Cloud Hardware Infrastructure, Microsoft will be sharing the latest news from the company related to cloud hardware and collaboration with the Open Compute Project (OCP) foundation. 

”We are presenting both our latest innovation and the lessons we’ve learned from the last few years of work with the OCP community,” says Kushagra Vaid, who will be addressing the conference on Tuesday morning as part of the opening plenary. “DCD is a great platform to share our global initiatives, and I am looking forward to presenting the importance of the next stage of infrastructure developments and how open source is paving the way for these radical innovations.”

Other members of the opening panel will look at what role Artificial Intelligence and machine learning will play in the next stage of technology infrastructure evolution and how the network will cope with the onslaught of traffic.
