Delegates were kept busy at Hong Kong Datacenter Week 2016 with an extensive range of sessions including a HGC GlobalCentre Visit, the HKDCW Opening Ceremony, DCD Converged HK Conference & Expo, various networking opportunities, DCPRO Development training opportunities and the most-awaited 3rd DCD APAC Awards.

A cocktail of both local and international speakers graced the stage at the conference from organizations such as Hong Kong Jockey Club, Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing Limited, Tencent, Chayora, AIA and Alibaba. Thought leaders covered various verticals and themes such as Cybersecurity, maximizing IT and cost strategy, automation, Cloud networking, IoT, Big Data, mapping out a full picture of the bright future of the HK Data Center market.

The morning started with an opening address by Allen Yeung from supporting organization, Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), HKSAR, setting the premise for how DCD Converged plays a key role in convening the ecosystem and region for greater innovation. This was played out through the rest of the conference as we saw key speakers using the stage as an opportunity to highlight vital lessons and insights on current issues that the industry needs to address, starting with a powerful morning plenary keynote on by Ed Ansett, i3 Solutions on “What lessons can be learnt from recent high profile data center failures in Asia?”.

“It is great seeing the community come together to debate and discuss the next big ideas and evaluate the industry’s best practices as we soon enter a new year. We have had a record turnout of over 600 senior IT professionals that are serious in engaging and investing greater industry relationships to foster partnerships and projects to take the industry to greater heights. We have had delegates from all across Asia including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Australia and Myanmar, a record turnout that packed the 2 conference halls and expo hall, ” says Vincent Liew, Managing Director – APAC, DCD Group.
