Moscow carrier neutral data center IXcellerate said that Moscow and St Peterburg telecommunications provider MASTERTEL has established a Point of Presence (PoP) in its Moscow 1 data center.

IXcellerate CEO Guy Willner said MASTERTEL now has 264 fibers into the premises.

IXcellerate began operations of Phase1 which includes 580 sq m of technical space on a 15,741 q m campus in December 2012.

Additional phases at the North Moscow campus will be constructed over the coming years, providing more than 5,000 sq m of space for IT equipment,” Willner said.

He said demand for carrier-neutral data centers built and operated to Western European standards is growing in Moscow and having multiple carriers operating in one environment provides customers with redundancy and the flexibility to choose which provider they use.

Aleksandr Surjik, head of chain development at MASTERTEL said the telco has a presence in almost all the commercial data centers in Moscow.

“High connectivity of our network allows clients to reallocate resources flexibly between data centers with minimal losses,” Surjik said.
