Although much has been written regarding the design of electrical distribution systems to enhance reliability (i.e., IEEE Std. 141; “Orange Book”), there is less guidance available when considering size and number of standby generators for the competing priorities of meeting the peak capacity requirement, maximizing reliability and minimizing cost.
