Thor Data Center - an Icelandic ISP which offers low carbon emission hosting options - has expanded its Reykjavik's data center facilities in conjunction with modular data center provider AST Modular.
The expansion consists of additional 105 m2 of modular white space which will be cooled with AST Modular's NFC indirect free cooling technology.
Thor's facilities are being built according to a modular approach and in several phases with the first one completed in 2009 and comprized of one 40' Containerized cata center with 17 IT racks.
Phase 2 features one 105 sq m data center modular room plus a separate cooling room hosting eight indirect free cooling modules . The entire data center runs under an integrated SCADA System and achieves a 1,07 PUE thanks to AST Modular's ultra-efficient natural free cooling technology.
