DatacenterDynamics.com and other websites operating under the DatacenterDynamics brand aim to provide you with an information resource. We will also provide you with the ability to register for conferences and events.

We provide a website that offers different levels of access to different areas of the site depending on membership levels. Membership of this website is accessed through a ‘MyDCD’ facility. Membership levels are Basic, Silver and Gold.

By joining ‘MyDCD’, you agree to provide us with certain information about yourself that we need to collect in order to provide the service.

DatacenterDynamics is committed to protecting the privacy of its website visitors. This policy sets forth how we will gather and manage all personal information that is communicated to and received by DatacenterDynamics. If you do not willingly agree to provide us with such information, or do not wish it to be used in the manner permitted by this Privacy Policy, you may visit the website but must not submit any information onto the website.

Member registration details

We will collect general member information in the following situations: when you register your details for ‘MyDCD’ to become a site member at the level of your choice; when you register for a DatacenterDynamics live or online event; when you sign up to receive any of our subscription services; when you provide the information required for you to sign up to or subscribe to other services provided by the company or its partners (such as training); when you post user-generated content on the website; when you report a problem with the website; and/or when you contact us for any other reason.

This information will include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, job title, company name, department name, industry sector, and other contact details. Registering to join ‘MyDCD’ also means you will be required to create a password. This password belongs to you and you must agree not to disclose your password to anyone. We will only ask you your password when logging into the website. Collecting member information is essential for us to be able to provide you with the most appropriate website content and advertising.

When you register for ‘MyDCD’, you will be required to provide further information such as your content preferences, size of company, number of racks

Event registration information

When you sign up for an event, you will be required to provide your details including but not limited to your name, email address, job title, company name, department name, industry sector, and other contact details. When you register for an event, you will be given the option to access the ‘joining up as a ‘MyDCD’ member’ area. You are not obliged to provide the information required for joining ‘MyDCD’ simply by the act of registering for one of our events. If you choose to become a MyDCD member your event registration details will be stored with your MyDCD information.

Your computer and use of DatacenterDynamics.com

We will collect information about your computer and about your visits to and use of our website. This information will include, but is not limited to, your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation.

Clickstream Data

A cookie consists of information sent by a web server to a web browser, and stored by the browser. The information is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. This enables the web server to identify and track the web browser.

We may use both “session” cookies and “persistent” cookies on the website to keep track of you whilst you navigate the website, to enable our website to recognise you when you visit and revisit the site, to estimate our audience size and usage patterns, to store information about your preferences, and so allow us to customise our site according to your individual interests, and to speed up your searches

Third part clickstream data

We may allow third party partner web sites to place cookies on your computer in order to serve relevant advertising to you. When you visit sites that are not part of DatacenterDynamics the third party may collect non-identifiable information about you.

We do not share data about you with third party companies. We can access only the cookies that we place onto your computer. Other facilities on this site such as “Tweet me”, or “share this story”, will direct the user to a third party site. These sites operate outside of DatacenterDynamics and have their own privacy policies.

Where the user uses the “email this story to a friend” option, the email address entered will be used only for the purpose of sending the chosen story to the addressee. We will not store third party email addresses. When you email a friend they will receive your email address. You should not therefore email website content to anyone you do not know and trust.

We publish Google Adsense interest-based advertisements on our website. These are tailored by Google to reflect your interests. To determine your interests, Google will track your behaviour across the web using cookies. You can view, delete or add interest categories associated with your browser using Google's Ads Preference Manager, available at: http://www.google.com/ads/preferences/. You can opt-out of the Adsense partner network cookie at: http://www.google.com/privacy_ads.html. Subject to a) b) and c) above, no part of the Website may be reproduced or stored in any other website or included in any public or private electronic retrieval system or service without the Company's prior written permission. Any rights not expressly granted in these terms are reserved

USER GENERATED CONTENT

The website contains user generated content in the form of comment, community forums, discussion groups and blogs where users can interact with one another and add content. You will need to register your information before you can take part, and this information, with the exception of your e-mail addresse(s), will be visible to all website users.

Other than personally identifiable information, which is covered under our Privacy Policy, any material you transmit or post to the Website shall be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. The Company shall have no obligations with respect to such material. The Company and its designees shall be free to copy, disclose, distribute, incorporate and otherwise use such material and all data, images, sounds, text and other things embodied therein for any and all commercial or non-commercial purposes.

You are prohibited from posting or transmitting to or from the Website any material:

(a) that is threatening, defamatory, obscene, indecent, seditious, offensive, pornographic, abusive, liable to incite racial hatred, discriminatory, menacing, scandalous, inflammatory, blasphemous, in breach of confidence, in breach of privacy or which may cause annoyance or inconvenience; or

(b) for which you have not obtained all necessary licences and/or approvals; or

(c) which constitutes or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise be contrary to the law of or infringe the rights of any third party, in any country in the world; or

(d) which is technically harmful (including, without limitation, computer viruses, logic bombs, Trojan horses, worms, harmful components, corrupted data or other malicious software or harmful data).

You may not misuse the Website (including, without limitation, by hacking).

The Company shall fully co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing the Company to disclose the identity or locate anyone posting any material in breach of the above.

Transaction information

If you make payments for events or other services provided by us through the website, we will collect information relating to such payments, including credit card details and general contact details.

The Attendee Ticket

1. The Attendee ticket covers access to the event which includes: keynote speaking sessions, panel discussions, breakout seminars, and access to the exposition hall. Coffee breaks, a buffet lunch, and a full set of conference and speaker notes are also included in the fee paid.

2. Any additional disbursements such as accommodation, food and refreshments are not included as part of the programme, telephone calls and non-scheduled leisure activities are the responsibility of the individual attendee.

3. A ticket may not be split between 2 people. DatacenterDynamics reserves the right to decline registrations without providing reasons. Registration fees for decilned attendee(s) will be refunded with in 5 working days.

Fee:

4. A Fee to each attendee, dependant on when the ticket is purchased is charged to cover all of the services at the venue. The fee is stated at the point of sale of the attendee ticket.

5.  Payment must be made within 30 days from the date of the signed attendee confirmation form or before the conference commencement date, whichever comes first.

6. If payment is not received by this time, admission to the conference will be refused.

7. DatacenterDynamics reserves the right to pass any debt on to a third party for recovery.

Unable to attend:

8. Substitutions may be made at any time subject to the discretion of DatacenterDynamics.

9. Cancellations must be received no less than 60 days prior to the conference commencement date and will be subject to an administration fee of 50% of the amount charged.

10. All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations after this date are subject to the full admission fee. Registration fees for valid cancellations will be refunded with in 5 working days post DatacenterDynamics recieving writen notification. 

Data Protection:

11. DatacenterDynamics hereby covenants not to release contact information to third parties outside the partners and sponsors of its global DatacenterDynamics conference series other than for purposes stated in clause 7 above.

12. DatacenterDynamics may only use an individual attendee’s personal information for the purpose of sending to the individual attendee details of its services or those offered by its marketing partners.

Limitation of Liability

13. The Organiser, its employees or agents shall not be liable for any loss, theft or injury to person or property suffered by the attendee.

14. Information given by the organizer prior to the conference is accurate to the best of its knowledge but does not constitute any warranty or representation by the Organiser and therefore any mistake or omission will not entitle the attendee to cancel their attendance.

15. Any liability to the attendee will be limited to the net value of the individual attendee ticket price.

Miscellaneous:

16. DatacenterDynamics will determine the scope and the content of the conference schedule of the day and the speakers invited.

17. DatacenterDynamics reserves the right to change the date and/or postpone or cancel the conference without liability to attendee’s company or individual attendees.

18. DatacenterDynamics reserves the right to decline registrations without providing reasons.

19. DatacenterDynamics reserves the right to exclude any attendee who it may deem as engaged in activity that is contrary to the best interest of the conference or which may appear unethical or unlawful, without any liability to refund the attendee.

Using your personal information

Personal information submitted to us via this website will be used for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy or, if different, as specified in relevant parts of the website. In addition, we may disclose your personal information:

• to the extent that we are required to do so by law;
• in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings;
• in order to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and reducing credit risk);
• to any person who we reasonably believe may apply to a court or other competent authority for disclosure of that personal information where, in our reasonable opinion, such court or authority would be reasonably likely to order disclosure of that personal information; and/or

Registration

Each registration is for a single user only. The Company does not permit you to share your user name and password with any other person nor with multiple users on a network. Responsibility for the security of any passwords issued rests with you.

Information that we collect may be transferred to, and stored at, countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of any orders, the processing of payment details and the provision of support services.

In practice, you will usually either expressly agree in advance to our use of your personal information for marketing purposes, or we will provide you with an opportunity to opt-out of the use of your personal information for marketing purposes.
