Siemens launched a Data Center Infrastructure Management solution branded Datacenter Clarity LC which 'bridges the gap between IT and facility management.'

This is Siemens' first DCIM offering as the firm increases its focus on the data center. The company is working with long term partner Maya Heat Transfer Technologies which owns the Clarity brand.
“Not many companies can match us when it comes to providing and integrating all of the technologies and services needed for today’s data centers,” said John Kovach, Siemens’ new Global Head of Data Centers.  “We truly believe that we are the only company that can provide such a broad foundation of proven experience.”

Siemens’ is positioning itself around integration and management capabilities across an entire portfolio of technologies within an enterprise, and a data center-specific software suite built upon Siemens Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
The Siemens PLM software has more than seven million licensees deployed globally, many in mission critical industries. NASA used the software to digitally design, simulate, analyze and assemble the entire Mars Rover Curiosity, contributing to a successful landing on Mars this past August, the firm said.

“While other companies are trying to piecemeal or patchwork disparate platforms together, we’re able to come in with a complete, proven, scalable platform based on proven technologies already being used in the field,” explained Kovach.  “And when you consider our global depth and expertise, you’ll see that Siemens is one of the few companies with the technical capability to successfully execute in any data center environment – almost anywhere in the world.”

Features:
·       IT/Building/Fire & Safety/Security Asset Lifecycle Management
·       Asset Visualization in HD4D – Visual Data Overlaid on 3D Virtual Data Center Model
·       Real-time Monitoring, Alarm and Event Notification
·       Capacity Planning
·       Workflow and Work Order Management

Your data centre is a key part of successfully transforming and building your digital business. The challenge today is to create a highly reliable, flexible, scalable and cost-effective digital infrastructure. Your cabling system is an important element in the creation of that infrastructure. Attend and learn how to: - Piece together different elements of standards, technical specifications and physical properties in order to choose the right networking equipment - Reduce the time and labour spent maintaining, repairing or installing cabling by adopting improved design and management practices.

  • Designing Flexibility into your Data Center Power Infrastructure

    Wed, 4 May 2016 18:00:00

As power density is rapidly increasing in today’s data center, provisioning the right amount of power to the rack without under sizing or over provisioning the power chain has become a real design challenge. Managing the current and future power needs of the data center requires Cap-Ex to deploy a flexible power infrastructure: safely handling peak power demands, balancing critical loads and easily scaling to meet growing power needs. In this webinar you will learn: > How to create Long term power flexibility and improved availability for your operation > How to increase energy efficiency and improve SLAs through a comprehensive set of best practices.
