Tanuja Randery, president for UK and Ireland at Schneider Electric, coined the term DC POP to describe networks of ‘edge’ data centers that help locate content closer to customers. She says the number of these data centers is going to increase, as more traffic avoids centralized facilities to save on bandwidth costs and improve user experience.
Schneider launched its micro data center range in the UK and Ireland earlier this week.
