TierPoint has started construction on its third data center at its 15 acre campus in the Oklahoma area.

The 69,000 sq ft facility will be the largest of the three TierPoint data centers in Oklahoma, adding 30,000 sq ft of raised floor space.

TierPoint currently operates a 22,000 sq ft data center in Oklahoma City which was built in 2009 and a facility in Tulsa with approximately 9,000 sq ft of raised floor, both facilities were previously operated by Perimeter Technology Center prior to TierPoint’s acquisition of the company in 2011.

The new facility will be a Tier III carrier-class, carrier-neutral facility and will include N+1 redundant power and accommodate up to 30kW per rack.

TierPoint’s general manager for Oklahoma Todd Currie said: “the new data center will enhance our ability to meet growing customer demand for secure colocation, managed hosting and cloud services and demonstrates TierPoint’s commitment to growing the Oklahoma market.”

“Oklahoma's low cost of living, land and electrical power have made it one of the nation's most inviting data center locations,” Currie said.
