Netmagic Solutions, a data center lifecycle management company and subsidiary of NTT Communications, is building a new data center that will add 100,000 sq ft of net floor space to Bangalore’s supply constrained data center market.

The new India Bangalore 2 Data Center in Electronic City will be operational by December 2013.

Netmagic said it believes capacity to be utilized by large IT/ITES companies looking for scalable and high quality data center space for their R&D centers as well as their end customers’ space requirements.

Netmagic Solutions CEO Sharad Sanghi said Netmagic will engineer the new data center “from the ground up” to ensure high levels of availability and security.

“A common misconception is that any building can be converted to offer data center services,” Sanghi said.

“A data center is engineered from the ground up to ensure the highest levels of security, fully redundant systems with secondary and even tertiary backup systems, massive cooling systems and onsite electricity generation.”

Netmagic has secured 3 to 9kVA for its new data center, which will use an air-cooled chiller cooling system with N+1 redundancy as well as a raised floor cooling system.

The data center will add to the growing number of NTT Com data centers around the world.

NTT Com - a member of NTT group - runs more than 140 data centers globally under its newly launched Nexcenter brand and holds a majority stake in Netmagic Solutions.

This is the first data center in India to have benefitted from the collaborative engineering and operational expertise of NTT Com and Netmagic.

Netmagic has seven data centers in India including four in Mumbai and one each in Bangalore, Noida (Delhi-NCR) and Chennai.

It said the data center will deliver the entire range of services of Netmagic including managed colocation, dedicated hosting, IT infrastructure monitoring and management, security and cloud computing services.

It will be built to offer high power and cooling densities and be connected to multiple telecom providers, including TCL, Bharti Airtel, Reliance, Tulip, BSNL and Aircel.

“The data center is designed with high levels of redundancies and a stringent focus on security, both physical and logical,” Netmagic said.
