Data center provider Digital Realty has opened its latest facility in Digital Profile Park in Dublin, Ireland.

The data center is built over 10 acres and supports the phased development plan of 15.36MW of data center space across four buildings, equating to 85,000 sq ft. It also features an indirect air optimization system, to improve its clients’ data center energy efficiency by lowering PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) and total cost of occupancy. During the testing phase at peak load the site achieved a PUE of between 1.15 and 1.18.

The Uptime Institute has certified Digital Profile Park’s design as Tier III compliant. According to Digital Realty, Digital Profile Park is the first and only certified data center in the Irish market.

The new facility has already achieved the BREEAM “excellent” Standard, which recognizes best practice in sustainable building design.

BREEAM sets the standard for best practice in sustainable building design, construction and operation and has become one of the most comprehensive and widely recognized measures of a building’s environmental performance.

It is used to encourage designers, clients and others to think about low carbon and low impact design, minimizing the energy demands created by a building before considering energy efficiency and low carbon technologies.

According to Digital Realty’s Managing Director, EMEA & Asia Pacific Bernard Geoghegan, the facility has been designed to offer local and international enterprise clients a range of connectivity options into Digital Realty’s wider ecosystem.
