Data center service provider CyrusOne has launched a website through which customers can find and secure available space within the company's 25 data centers. Most of the Carrollton, Texas-based company's facilities are in the US, but it also has a few in Europe and Asia.

The portal is called CyrusOne Market Place, and the aim is to simplify the process of shopping for data center space.

Kevin Timmons, the company's CTO, said, “The scale of CyrusOne data centers and shared infrastructure platform allow us to easily dedicate space in our facilities for SMB (small and medium business) customers. We're supplying predetermined power, connectivity, and racking solutions in the configurations that most SMB customers need while still successfully serving the needs of our core enterprise business.”

The provider has historically focused on the enterprise market, especially companies in the oil and gas industry based in its home State of Texas. It is now adjusting the model, adding a focus on smaller customers.

Its newly launched CyrusOne Express product line is designed exclusively for small and medium-sized businesses. The packages come pre-configured with cabinets, power and connectivity and have month-to-month contracts.
