Indian data center operator and managed services provider CtrlS Datacenters, which owns some of Asia's largest Tier IV data centers, has launched its overseas operations with a new facility in San Diego, California.

The launch of overseas operations is an initiative by CtrlS to offer IT Infrastructure and quality services like disaster recovery, remote infrastructure management and cloud services for existing customers targeting the western markets.

The data center is in the San Diego area of Claremont Mesa. It will provide numerous benefits to customers including reduced response time through effective management of Indian and US servers, higher accountability under single uptime SLA, invoicing in Indian currency, local number calling support and access to senior resources as per Indian time zone.

CtrlS said the data center offers higher bandwidth servers at a similar or lesser price when compared to Indian servers and offers a chance for Indian customers to expand into the US market.

Commenting on the launch, Sridhar Reddy, founder & CEO of CtrlS Datacenters, said: "The data center in the US region is critical to the growth of the company since 20% of our customers are multinational companies, and we are happy to provide similar reliable services in the American region. This enables us to offer an overseas option for our existing customers who are targeting the western markets.”

Reddy said the data center will help CtrlS provide state-of-the-art infrastructure and technological offerings, existing in India, to customers in the US region and help them solve mission critical situations.

CtrlS was incorporated in 2007 to provide data center infrastructure, disaster recovery, storage, application hosting, backup, hardware, cloud computing, OS layers, network and security solutions.

It runs data centers in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi which offer a combined 370,000 sq ft of space.

CtrlS also announced the appointment of industry veteran Edwin Kolen as its COO for its business in India this week.

Kolen brings close to 20 years of experience in managing IT infrastructure and services operations for offshore/ outsourcing organizations at multinational companies in India to the role.

Prior to joining CtrlS, he was managing director of Colruyt, India, where he was leading the Indian offshore development center operations.

CtrlS said Kolen will partner with the existing leadership to lead the growth of CtrlS business in India.
