Data Center Infrastructure Management vendor iTRACS has launched a new version of its Converged Physical Infrastructure ManagementTM (CPIMTM) product that offers advanced capabilities in real-time alarm monitoring, asset discovery and new reporting features.

CPIMTM v2.6.0 can streamline the discovery of assets in physical infrastructure, with software optimized to “see” new assets and map them in a virtual model powered by iTRACS’ Interactive 3D Visualization, according to iTRACS president and CEO Elizabeth Given.

“Customers can optimize the processes that support moves, adds and changes; resolve service issues faster to keep their IT running at peak performance; and collaborate on both tactical and strategic decisions using real-world insight to drive positive business outcomes,” Given said.

The solution can issue threshold violation alarms from third-party vendor equipment for power and environmental monitoring instantly through the Alarm Manager, with alerts also being issued once repair work is complete.

Sentry Power Manager gets an upgrade
Server Technology has upgraded its Sentry Power Manager power monitoring and management solution with new predictive trending analysis to help companies make decisions around energy efficiency.

Server Technology director of software and firmware Calvin Nicholson said the solution can overlay certain trend types to help operators see immediately if future trends can help them set thresholds for power or environmental conditions.

“Our data center power customers will be able to use the predictive trending analysis to view and analyze past and future data related to all aspects of cabinet power – total system, circuits, lines, locations, zones and temperature,” Nicholson said.

SPM v5.2 also has a tool that allows operators to run reports by available capacity.

“The redundancy tool lets the user see if the power provided to the cabinet will keep devices powered if either the A or B power source is lost,” Nicholson said.

CA buys Paragon for automation suite
CA technologies made a purchase this week that will bring new predictive analytics, critical path monitoring and SLA management to its workload automation product portfolio.

Privately held Paragon Global Technologies also provides software for centralized management and historical reporting.

CA said the tools will be used for real-time latency monitoring and reporting, audit and compliance reporting, advanced simulation so that customers can view the effect of workload changes and work load analytics.

Paragon’s technologies will be integrated into CA’s Workload Automation iXp, which can automate workloads across a number of different environments.
