Data center infrastructure management vendor Power Assure has made an agreement with In-Q-Tel (IQT) that will help it target 17 member agencies of the US Intelligence Community. The members include Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Department of Homeland Security, and others.
IQT describes itself as a "strategic investment firm" that identifies, adapts and provides technology solutions to support the Intelligence Community members'missions. The company's goal is to identify and partner with vendors that have such solutions.
Power Assure president and CEO Brad Wurtz said he expected the deal to expand federal business for the vendor. "Our success in the federal market to date with our advanced power management software will be accelerated by our relationship with IQT."
Power Assure's core product is EM/4 Data Center Energy Management platform. It provides real-time and historical power-utilization data for data centers, as well as analysis tools for that data.
Commenting on the announcement, IQT CTO William Strecker said: "Power Assure's software will offer our customers in the US Intelligence Community capabilities to drive additional efficiencies into their data centers by managing power consumption, optimizing asset utilization and aligning power management with business processes."
