The 7th DCD Converged Hong Kong event will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center (HKCEC) on the 9th of November. The day will be a key highlight of the 1st ever Hong Kong Data Center Week (7-11 November), and is set to bring together 450 of the region’s most senior and influential IT professionals.

“We have seen an influx of disruptive technologies such as IoT, cloud, software-defined and Open Source in recent years that must be discussed, understood and deployed effectively in order for this Data Center industry to continue thriving. Hong Kong, as the gateway to China and as a key commercial center in its own right, is the appropriate place to address such changes in our deployment of technology that are moulding Asia into the global driver of growth and innovation in our industry. This November, we look forward to welcoming thought leaders from across the region and beyond to contribute to this discussion and help shape the direction that Hong Kong will play in the region’s technological evolution,” says Vincent Liew, Managing Director – APAC, DCD Group.

Keeping the industry on the cutting edge

We live in an era of smart technologies, precision analytics and established standards, yet not everyone is on the same page when it comes to the adoption and implementation of the latest technology. With the rapid transformations across the IT Stack, the need for enterprises to move towards a smarter and more cost-effective IT strategy is increasing.

At DCD Converged Hong Kong 2016, thought-provoking questions to challenge practitioners to break barriers in achieving further automation, more effective network design and greater efficiency will be posed through speaker sessions and panels. Issues such as the key architectural considerations and constraints of the next generation cyber-physical infrastructure will be addressed, to help accelerate digital transformation.

“I am looking forward to sharing my insights and industry knowledge at DCD Converged Hong Kong. We need to constantly challenge attitudes and practices in technology adoption, in order to bring forward “smart thinking” across the design and operation of IT infrastructure,” shares Leo Chen, IDC Senior Architect, Alibaba Infrastructure Service. Leo Chen is set to give an afternoon plenary keynote on Alibaba’s Zhangbei Cloud Data Center design at the conference.

Hong Kong Data Center Week 2016 is supported by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) and other major industry associations and technology leaders. The week will also feature data center tours, data center-specific training, as well as the highlight – the 3rd APAC DCD Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner. Known as the ‘Oscars’ of the data center industry, this year, the ten awards categories received an impressive number of entries from over 10 Asian nations including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia and Philippines.
