The upcoming annual DCD>Webscale conference and expo held from the 19th -20th July 2017 in Bangalore, will host over 900 senior IT and data centre professionals from across the nation. This year’s theme “Webscale” will focus on India’s position in the global technology landscape as the rise of cloud computing, IoT and Big Data shape how businesses and their customers go about their daily routine.

Headlining this conference is ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) - a fast-growing data center provider headquartered in Singapore. With a global platform of data centers in the world’s major business markets of over 45 facilities in Singapore, China, India and the UK, STT GDC offers a full suite of best-in-class, highly scalable and flexible data center solutions, connectivity and support services that best meet customers’ current and future colocation needs.

“We are excited to headline DCD>Webscale in Bangalore. India has the third largest number of start-ups in the world as a result of rapid growth from technological disruption and innovation. Being one of the fastest growing economies, India is an exciting and strategic market for us. At this event, we look forward to share more on our global data center platform and how enterprises can leverage on our local expertise to venture into India with our data center solutions, while staying agile to meet their business needs.” said Bruno Lopez, CEO of STT GDC.

The Digital India Program initiated by the Government of India aims to connect everyone across the nation and improve digital literacy. Through a series of key programs identified as pillars, the government intends to spur innovation and growth in areas such as; electronic products, services, manufacturing. Central to this program is the development of a high speed broadband network that spans across the country through the building of data centers across the nation.

“India is the nerve centre for IT, with the growing focus on digitization and mobility, the demand for highly scalable and available systems will continue, resulting in phenomenal growth of data centers in the country. Organizations are re-architecting their IT infrastructure to thrive in this new environment. As the country’s largest data center services player, STT GDC India can help organizations adapt to this changing ecosystem and new model of interconnection” said Sumit Mukhija, CEO of STT GDC India.

“Based on DCD research conducted last year, India is expected to overtake most of Europe’s major markets in both data infrastructure assets and investments by the end of the decade. Strong increases in demand for IT products and services accompanied by India’s considerable large skills base have the potential to account for as much as 20% to 25% of global growth in data center and infrastructure investment over the next five years. While this growth will vary strongly within India, the demographic, technological and virtualization trends driving transformation will better enable India to better deal with key resource issues. While Digital India may be the defined outcome, it will also represent the means of getting there,” commented Nick Parfitt, Senior Research Analyst, DCD Group.

“A powerhouse in the data center space across Asia Pacific, STT GDC’s strategic business relationships will be further enhanced by DCD’s strong presence in the region, via our events and media platforms across both developed and emerging markets.” commented Vincent Liew, Managing Director – APAC, DCD Group.
