“We have discussed exciting innovations and activities in the region, including the disruption of blockchain technology in the financial sector, the synergy with Chinese businesses and Hong Kong as an attractive data center location among global companies for its reliability and cost advantages,” said Vincent Liew, MD APAC, DatacenterDynamics. “Such insights enable us to prepare and connect our international and regional audience ahead of the Hong Kong Datacenter Week, in order to facilitate the right type of business engagements and discussions during the events in November.”

Already supported by major trade and professional bodies, including the OGCIO, CSA and ACCA, the week will include the 7th annual DCD Converged Hong Kong Conference & Expo, the 3rd annual DCD APAC Awards ceremony and gala dinner, data center tours, a full training calendar and multiple VIP networking events. The activities will attract over 500 visitors, amongst them the most important IT decision makers from across Asia Pacific.

Next Generation Cyber-physical Infrastructure

“The industry needs to challenge the norm. Many enterprises project their IT growth without realizing that technologies have evolved to enable higher server and rack densities, and that they can leverage on this for significant cost and space savings. Coupled with advanced architecture in the software/hardware stack, and the rise of web services for non-critical applications, there are so many benefits in this next generation of cyber-physical infrastructure,” said Barry Lewington, Head of Data Centre Service Practice at PTS Consulting.

As part of the DCD Converged global series, this year’s event will challenge the norm and pave the way for the next generation of IT infrastructure by bringing international speakers from Asia Pacific and Europe to share their innovations, best practices and perspectives. Delegates can also look forward to getting a close look at the latest innovations adopted by Hong Kong’s state-of-the-art data centers.

DCD has moved to a ‘free-to-attend, by invitation’ event model for qualified end-user business executives, managers and technical professionals directly engaged with IT, data center and cloud infrastructure. If your company operates its own on/off premise data center(s), or if you are a significant end-user of data center and cloud services and you are involved in technology planning, procurement, implementation, and operations, then you may qualify.
