As digitisation is increasingly becoming a top priority for regional CxO’s, data center build outs continue to grow rapidly across the Middle East. International giants such as Alibaba, Oracle and Vodafone are moving into the region by building out large-scale data centers in order to meet the regional demands for cloud consumption.

“As global trends continue to shift towards cloud, IoT and big data, there is a shift in the region’s demand from clunky IT equipment and servers to streamlined cloud and data center solutions hosted regionally”, says Cole Crawford from Vapor IO who will be speaking at the event.

Dubai is expected to become a hotbed for data center activity in 2017 and beyond. In order to fully transform their digital infrastructure, data center operators must address the challenges facing modern data centers, including challenges with convergence, optimization and automation, energy and cost efficiency. The conference agenda will highlight the region specific data center challenges by bringing together domestic and international subject matter experts to discuss the latest tech innovations and solutions.

DCD has teamed up with the Uptime Institute who will deliver two pre-event workshops on 8 May which are set to look into IT efficiency and data center operations best practices, where participants can learn more on how to reduce management and operations risk in a hybrid IT environment.

“The Middle East data center market is experiencing a significant boost driven by regional IT services demand. The workshops are designed to help ensure the region’s IT leaders are kept up to speed with the latest efficiency innovations and practices”, says Julian Kudritzki, Chief Operating Officer, Uptime Institute who will be leading the workshop and speaking on the DCD stage in Dubai in May.

“We are excited about working with DCD on this event, which reflects the growth and dedication to the Middle East data center community, helping IT leaders optimise efficiency of their mission-critical IT infrastructure for the digital age,” adds Kudritzki.

The event is set to gather leading global industry players such as Alibaba, Google, Vapor IO, Nissan, Bosch and Etisalat and many more, who will discuss the latest tech innovations and discuss their challenges in the cloud and data center community this May in Dubai. “The Middle East data center market is at a tipping point from a in-house market to a service provider market from an IT infrastructure perspective, which is paving the way for more data center build-outs and complex hybrid IT environments.

We are excited to team with Uptime Institute for this year’s event as IT leaders come together to discuss the complex environment of modern and legacy data centers in order to keep up with the digital demands”, said George Rockett, CEO & Co-Founder at DatacenterDynamics.
