The DatacenterDynamics Internet Conference and Expo, in San Francisco in July, will explore key data center and cloud infrastructure technologies that make possible the “new economy” drivers of global growth.

At DCD’s 17th annual conference, at the Marriott Marquis on July 30 and 31, leaders at Google, Yahoo, Twitter, GoDaddy, Baidu, Salesforce, Facebook, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, HP, IBM, Dell, Microsoft, Fidelity Investments, Intel, AT&T Foundry, Cisco and Brocade - among other leading brands - will share insights with over 2000 business executives and technical professionals.

“This conference uniquely covers the full data center and cloud infrastructure ecosystem,” says Bruce Taylor, conference chair and executive vice president, North America for DatacenterDynamics. “This means the IT stack of networking, storage and computing, as well as the critical-environment technologies of power and cooling. Importantly, the conference will help plot progress on, and the future course of, the true software-defined, data-driven datacenter.” Taylor says that the market factors behind the need for this new breed of “digital-first” agile, hyper-scalable data centers include the Internet of Things, mobility, streaming and interactive media, big data and analytics, and cloud services.

StackingIT

Introduced with DCD Internet, is a new global series on open-sourcing data center and cloud technology called StackingIT. This new series from DCD will in 2015 visit San Francisco, Singapore, Chicago and London.

StackingIT employs DCD’s global conference platform – the largest in the world dedicated solely to data the business of data center infrastructure – to support the open-source research and development initiatives of Open Compute, OpenStack, OpenPower, Open Network, OpenDaylight and Linux Foundations. According to OpenStack Superuser, an online news source, a recent survey by the foundation cited “operational efficiency, speed and cost…(as) leading drivers for OpenStack adoption.”

“Our purpose is to bring together all of the primary open-source collaboration communities under one big tent,” Cole Crawford, chair of the new conference series and founding Executive Director of the Open Compute Project, says, “Working collaboratively, using this conference series, we believe will help propel the adoption rate of open source by reaching a large global IT and data center audience, potentially new to open-source and that may not yet understand the full extent of the business amplification benefits of open-source technology.”
