DCD announced the winners of the 4th Datacenter Week Awards last Friday at a Gala Dinner & Ceremony which also marked the close of conference & expo DCD>Converged 2017 in Hong Kong. The results were decided by an independent panel of judges headed by Jennifer (Zhong Qian) Feng, CTO at Dalian Wanda Group.

The DCD Awards portfolio has for more than a decade showcased stories of innovation and cutting edge design globally with the Datacenter Week Awards focusing on the latest accomplishments in the APAC region. The evening was attended by 150 key industry leaders, educators, press and more from Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia and Philippines.

Individual Achievement Awards

This year DCD returned to awarding individual achievement to complement the project award categories with the 2 established categories - Business Leader of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to the Industry - as well as a new individual category, the Most Connected industry Professional. Mr William Siu, Guest Lecturer at University of Hong Kong & CEO at Technovative International was awarded the Most Connected Industry Professional Award, representing a well connected person in the industry with his experience in educating the next generation in this digital era. The Business Leader of the Year Award was given to Mr Bruno Lopez, CEO at ST Telemedia Global Data Centres, recognizing his impressive portfolio including 50 facilities across Asia and Europe. Mr Zhu Hua, Director of Technology Development Center, IDC Platform Department at Tencent was given the Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry for his 15 years of data center industry experience which includes the site selection, planning, designing, testing and operation of the full life cycle of the data center on behalf of a number of China’s key data center companies.
