Since the installation of government regulation (PP) 82/2012 2012 and its requirements for data to be stored and processed locally, the Data Center market in Indonesia has developed in all areas of data storage and processing to accommodate this data influx. With such enforcements coupled with the rapid organic demand driven by of a data hungry population and the growth in e-commerce, the need for the data center community to step up and work together to enable greater innovation has been increasingly critical.

This sparked the formation of the Indonesia Data Center Provider Association (IDPRO), an association pioneered by Indonesian colocation providers, representing more than 80% of local Data Center market share, according to a presentation given by Kalamullah Ramli, Chairman of IDPRO. “With the digital landscape evolving so rapidly, it is vital that the Data Center community comes together to collaborate thereby pushing the industry forward. This will build a more extensive network where we can share our challenges and experiences to raise the industry standard”, added Kalamullah. Through IDPRO, key contributors to the industry aim to address issues such as data sovereignty, national security, personal data protection as well as developing a set of local Data Center Standards.

DCD will be providing a platform for members of IDPRO, including NTT Indonesia Nexcenter, NEX Datacenter, Telkomsigma and Lintasarta, to come together to contribute their insights and share their latest innovations at DCD’s 6th Indonesia conference this year. DCD>Indonesia will be held at The Ritz Carlton, Jakarta on April 6 2017 and is set to attract an audience of over 700 senior IT professionals across the APAC region to discuss the needs of the industry and how to meet them.

Hear from NTTI Nexcenter’s Vice President, Alvin Siagan, TelkomSigma’s CEO, Judi Achmadi and Lintasarta’s IT Services Director, Arya Soemali on hot topics the market is currently debating such as data center and green standards, delivering digital transformation through hybrid Cloud and leveraging on As-a-service (aaS) model in the journey towards ICT transformation. They will be supported by international speakers such as Leo Chen from Alibaba Infrastructure Services and John Duffin from the Uptime Institute who will be sharing their knowledge on such concerns to give a more comprehensive view.
