Dot VN, provider of Internet and telecommunications services in Vietnam, has secured exclusive rights to distribute Elliptical Mobile Solutions' data center rack enclosures that suspend IT equipment racks within secured one-rack containers in the country. The containers include cooling infrastructure. They have wheels and some models are self-propelled.

Besides exclusive distribution rights in Vietnam, Dot VN has also become a non-exclusive distributor of EMS solutions throughout the rest of the Asian markets, Dot VN CEO Thomas Johnson said.

"This product is going to be launched in Vietnam (and) we are the exclusive distributor," he said. Chandler, Ariz.-based EMS will launch three models of its product in Vietnam on Jan. 28. The product is already commercially available in the US.

R.A.S.E.R., the 36U model, has a power capacity of up to 8 KW and is available with dual power inlets for redundancy. Out of the three, this is the only model that offers redundant power inlets.

Both of the other two models (the 22U S.P.E.A.R. and the 24U C-S.P.E.A.R.) are armored and self-propelled. The drive system they feature helps move up to 1,000 pounds of equipment up a six-percent grade.

The S.P.E.A.R. model is also armored.

All three models feature the company's patent-pending suspension system to protect the equipment from shock and vibration. The rack floats inside an outer frame, using a combination of magnetorheological, pneumatic and elastometric suspension systems.

Depending on the model and options selected by the buyers, Dot VN will sell the systems in Vietnam and the rest of Asia for US $35,000-$140,000.
