Emcor Enclosures has teamed up with data center infrastructure vendor Karis Technologies to offer “comprehensive data center solutions.”

These will include pre-configured Guardian Series server cabinets, which will be available seven days from order. The alliance will also expand Emcor’s capability to build custom solutions.

Manufacturing muscle

Emcor Enclosures is a business unit of Crenlo - itself a subsidiary of International Equipment Solutions, an American engineering equipment giant with 19 manufacturing facilities across three continents. Crenlo is a company with six decades of history that specializes in building cabs - cabins for human operators that go on top of heavy industrial vehicles like harvesters and salt spreaders.

Meanwhile Emcor (originally short for Elgin Metal Formers Corporation) was a pioneer in the design and manufacture of electronics enclosures and has been increasingly applying its expertise and manufacturing techniques to data center infrastructure like cabinets and cooling units. The company prides itself on the ability to deliver custom enclosures designed to customer specifications.

The company has entered a strategic partnership with Karis Technologies - another American firm that deals in many of the same things: racks, cable management solutions, power distribution and cooling equipment.

“Adding Karis Technologies’ expertise and breadth of products advances our objective of offering customers extraordinary service and comprehensive support. It gives customers the resources, expertise and products to solve any challenge they face in any data center environment – the most unique offering in our industry,” said Steve Dick, general manager of Emcor.
