Emerson Network Power has launched Liebert CRV 300 mm Chilled Water (CW) units.

The compact CR060 and CR038 thermal management systems, designed for small to medium sized data centres, are available in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). They have a large cooling capacity in a 300 mm frame, so there is more space for servers - Emerson says the CR060 has the highest cooling capacity for a unit of this size.

The unit has humidifiers, electric reheat and high-efficiency filters found in larger units, and the Liebert CRV family includes air diffusers, which supply air directly to the IT equipment, eliminating hot spots. The systems can operate at a higher chilled water temperature than previous models and, if properly optimised, should cut costs.

Emerson recently announced it will split, spinning off the Network Power business which handles data centers, but this is not happening for another year.

“With the Liebert CRV direct expansion models CR011 and CR021 appearing on the UK’s ECA Energy Technology List, we’re confident that the range of units is a compelling option for data centre managers looking to optimise data centre space, without compromising performance,” said Roberto Felisi, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) product marketing director, thermal management, Emerson Network Power.

The Liebert CRV range is available in a variety of options including Direct Expansion and Chilled Water units in 300 mm and 600 mm width versions ranging from 11 kW – 50 kW of capacity.

The self-contained units are designed to continuously monitor variations in heat loads and remove unwanted hot air from data centre aisles, ensuring that data centre temperature is maintained at an optimal level.
