zColo carrier-neutral colocation services provider and carrier ethernet exchange operator CENX signed a deal for CENX to offer services in Zayo's data center facility located at 60 Hudson Street in New York City.

The 60 Hudson Street building is among the most densely connected carrier hotels in the world.

zColo is the exclusive operator of the 60 Hudson Street Meet-Me-Room. zColo also manages the riser infrastructure which enables interconnection between hundreds of domestic and international carrier and content networks throughout the building.

CENX Carrier Ethernet Exchanges offer access to more than 15 million Ethernet Service Locations (ESLs), the most of any Carrier Ethernet Exchange provider (based on published data). CENX Exchange members benefit from extended network reach, route optimization and diversification, and cost savings.

"zColo is continually looking for ways to enhance the connectivity options available to our customers," said Steven Finnerty, Vice President of Sales at zColo. "The agreement with CENX enables our data center customers to benefit immediately from Carrier Ethernet services with a leading provider, augmenting the wide range of interconnection options currently available in our data centers. We believe the CENX platform will create additional value to our customers."

"As a result of Zayo's extensive connectivity options and solid data center presence in 60 Hudson Street, CENX is well-positioned for significant growth," said Tony Thakur, Senior Vice President of Engineering at CENX. "As the world's first, largest and most connected Carrier Ethernet Exchange, we believe that combining our services with Zayo's strong, well-connected data center and our innovation in integrating Carrier Ethernet services, IP, voice, and video connections over a single or protected high-speed connection, will provide an extremely compelling platform for service and content providers alike."
