International software company Nlyte Software has released its IT Service Management (ITSM) integration framework.

Nlyte said the ITSM will deliver the “most advanced” set of ITSM connectors for today’s most popular systems.

The company said the framework provides the assurance that integrations will continue to deliver value regardless of new versions of third party enterprise management systems or Nlyte’s Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platform.

Respondents to IDC's December 2013 Enterprise Datacenter Survey ranked "the ability to draw the connection between IT spending and business value" as the most important benefit of DCIM.

IDC analyst Jennifer Koppy said, "Without DCIM's integration to an ITSM or enterprise system management system, it would be impossible to make the connection between IT spend and how it relates to business value."

“Nlyte's investment in ITSM interoperability is a clear statement of its commitment to its customers' long-term success with DCIM. Nlyte said its integration framework makes it easy to connect data sets and processes across systems, doing away with rigid, one-time only hard integration approaches.

The framework enables Nlyte to deliver out-of-the-box and licensable connectors quickly.

Furthermore, as software versions change - from either Nlyte or an ITSM vendor - the framework either adapts automatically or will require simple configuration-like edits: it abstracts programming thereby eliminating hard coding.

The integration framework is now shipping as part of the current Nlyte release, and is supported by the recently announced Asset Sync connector for HP UCMDB.

Nlyte’s co-found, CTO and VP of product management Robert Neave said the DCIM industry has become wrought with vendors who force their clients into brute-force integrations which come with extensive upfront and future costs.

“We recognized this very real problem years ago. While much of the DCIM industry was focused on aesthetics, we focused on the value of integration with ITSM systems,” Neave said.
