Private cloud solutions operator Metacloud has announced its Metacloud OpenStack will support Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) – a network virtualization technology that eliminates typical scalability problems surrounding large cloud computing environments.

Metacloud has introduced a full Layer 3 topology which it said will ensure any workload in the cloud to maximize its throughput.

It said the VXLAN implementation will allow companies to leverage open standard networking equipment.

Metacloud will integrate the solution on Linux based Cumulus Networks.

It said the integrated solution will be an important proof point, as it validates the potential of open networking on Linux.

Metacloud OnPrem and Hosted Private Cloud solutions will both include the capabilities described above by July 1.
