Wholesale data center player Digital Realty has partnered with the Singapore Internet Exchange (SGIX) and Singapore Facilites Based Operator (FBO) BlueTel Networks.

The alliance will offer Digital Realty clients greater and more cost-effective connectivity options in Singapore, Digital Realty said.

Digital Realty SVP and APAC regional head Kris Kumar said the company is pleased to offer clients an enhanced and alternate connectivity point in the west of Singapore as demand for a more open Internet Exchange environment grows.

"Cultivating strategic partnerships is critical to providing value-added data centre solutions to our clients,” Kumar said.

The agreement with SGIX and BlueTel Networks includes an agreement to site a neutral peering point in Digital Realty’s Singapore data center, in addition to SGIX’s two existing peering points in the East of Singapore.

With peering points on both sides of the country it will reportedly enhance the overall performance of the Internet in Singapore.

BlueTel Networks managing director Wee Woon Tian said the partnerships will enable the company to grow its customer base as well as providing cost effective solutions for SGIX and other carrier-neutral sites.
