Global ICT solution provider Huawei has helped the Meizhou Branch of China Construction Bank (CCB) to build a modular data center.

CCB is one of the “big four” banks in the China and its Meizhou Branch, located in Guangdong Province in South China, was established in 1997.

In this project, Huawei provided Meizhou Branch with a modular data center solution that integrates racks, power supply and distribution units, cooling, cabling and intelligent management systems to meet the bank’s requirement for rapid deployment and flexible expansion.

Infrastructure components of this modular solution including power distribution units and cooling systems can be added in accordance with the customer’s business growth.

Huawei said the modular data center solution supports a power density as high as 7kW and can save at least 30% space.

The intelligent management system embedded in the solution can achieve unified management of power systems, security systems and the environment.

By adopting the modular approach, the 60sq m data center of Meizhou Branch was completed within two weeks.

Huawei said its modular data center solution has an advantage in energy efficiency.

By dispensing with the raised floor and adopting in-row cooling, and aisle containment technology, the modular solution helps Meizhou Branch to greatly enhance energy efficiency of the new data center, according to the vendor.

CCB’s Guangdong Subsidiary technical expert of IT Wu Songhui said the demand on energy-saving data centers is becoming increasingly salient along with our business growth and the development of data centers.

“The flexible capacity expansion capability and green and energy-saving advantage offered by Huawei’s modular data center solution meets our expectations for data centers and provides good environment for running equipment,” Songhui said.

Apart from CCB’s Meizhou data center, Huawei’s modular data center solutions have been applied to many data centers both home and abroad, including North China Logistics IDC of Tianjian Subsidiary of China Mobile, North Base of China Mobile, and data centers of the greatest IT operator in India NxtGEN and CANTV in Venezuela.
