Eaton's Iron Throne
– Eaton

Power distribution specialist Eaton has decided to capitalize on the hype surrounding HBO’s fantasy epic Game of Thrones, and commissioned Lucas House, an artist from Raleigh, North Carolina, to build an Iron Throne. Out of rack power distribution units.

The result, seen above, incorporates 36 Eaton G3 ePDUs into a 6’11” construct representing the seat of power for the monarchy of Westeros. According to the company, that’s “nine inches taller than Mike [DeCamp], who once sparred with The Hound and is a bannerman pledged to House Stark.”

There are 821 power sockets on this throne.

The installation will tour with the Eaton team across trade shows in the US, starting with Dell EMC World (October 18-20 in Austin) and continuing on to SpiceWorld (November 1-3 in Austin).
