Located in Medford, just outside of the city, the facility is one of 12 owned by the company, and has been operational for the past ten years. It offers 38,000 sqare feet of floor space, including 25,000 square feet of technical space, making it Expedient’s largest data center.

The facility is equipped with three 2.2MW generators and boasts 650 tons of cooling equipment. It is connected to another ten Expedient facilities across six US cities via a 10Gbps fiber optic network.

Earlier this year, Expedient opened its third data center in Cleveland, a 14,000 square foot building with 6,500 sq ft of technical space. The company is also planning to build a second data center in Columbus, and a $14 million extension to its Nova Place site in Pittsburg is underway.

“This expansion allows us to continue to serve Boston and beyond with our state-of-the-art facility, including our on-site performance cloud point of delivery,” said Curtis DePass, Expedient’s Northeastern regional VP.

“And, with our Boston data center’s multi-gigabit connectivity to our 10 other facilities, we are uniquely positioned to offer this region seamless out-of-market, offsite hosting capabilities.”
