Mac Devine says Internet of Things will be ruled by start-ups, and IBM has plenty of money to shop around

Mac Devine, CTO of Cloud Services Division at IBM, says the Internet of Things is growing with “unprecedented scale”.

He thinks this particular market will be moved forward by small, innovative companies - which will be acquired by organisations like IBM. However in the past few years, the ‘Big Blue’ has changed its tactics and will no longer ‘bluewash’ its purchases, but rather keep them at arm’s length.
