Louisiana data center services provider Venyu has expanded its flagship Baton Rouge data center in Louisiana by 23,000 sq ft.

The US$14m expansion, at a site in the state capital's Bon Carré Business Park, will provide customers with fully redundant power circuits and network infrastructure, carrier-grade firewall security and redundant carrier-grade monitoring systems.

The data center also hosts a physical business recovery center which facilitates 93 workspaces.

Venyu’s Baton Rouge facility can provide customers with over 10gbps transport between Venyu data centers from it multiple connectivity providers.

It said its indoor, mezzanine-level placement of HVAC equipment ensures it can perform both maintenance and upgrades with no disruption to customer service while gaining increased energy efficiencies.

Venyu opened its first colo data center in 2000 and acquired the Baton Rouge facility soon after.

Venyu was acquired by Eatel, in September last year.

Venyu’s CEO Scott Thompson said industry demand for crucial data center services such as colocation, cloud hosting, managed hosting and cloud backup are increasing.

“Businesses are seeking more cost-effective IT solutions to drive efficiencies and generate revenue,” Thompson said.
