Stream Data Centers has been awarded Tier III Design Certification from the Uptime Institute for the design documents of its latest Private Data Center facility in San Antonio, Texas – a designation maintained by less than 20% of colo facilities across the US.

The San Antonio facility is a 75,840 sq ft, single-storey, purpose-built, designed to withstand 185mph winds and uplift.

The purpose built Stream Private Data Center delivers up to 7.2 MW of critical-load power and includes dual-feed power from two separate substations, which utilizes its standard 2N electrical / N+1 mechanical configuration.

Stream is also using accredited construction and design practices required to achieve a LEED Silver Certification.

Stream said it will be provide a full offering of critical facilities management, and larger users will have the flexibility to control their own private suite and dedicated critical infrastructure, offering a new level of control and flexibility to the San Antonio market.

San Antonio is becoming a fast growing city in the US and has approximately 40 MW of critical load currently under construction.

Stream’s Chaska facility in Minnesota was awarded Tier III design last February.

The company began construction on its Westover Hills development last year and is expected to be operational and ready for occupancy next month.
