US-based OneNeck IT Solutions is finalizing preparations for a 35,000 sq ft data center in the Denver metro area.

The Tier III data center – the company’s first in Colorado – will be built on 11.2 ac of land on Concord Center Drive and is set to cost $20m.

It already has data centers in Cedar Fa;lls, Des Moines, Madison, Minneapolis and Pheonix.

OneNeck’s multi-phase Denvor project is designed for rapid expansion, and will be built in up to five phases, totalling 160,000 sq ft.

It has been granted a personal property tax rebate and construction few waivers by the Board of Douglas County Commissioners to build in the southeast corner of the Denver metro area.

OneNeck’s facility is set to open in 2015 and will include state-of-the-art industry features such as:

- Tier IV electrical system with multiple levels of redundancy and backup

- Energy saving cooling design with a projected PUE of 1.2 or less

- Efficient use of space with a 5kW per cabinet average power density (the normal Colorado home uses about 1 kW), with maximums at 4 times that, or 20kW

OneNeck said it will deploy ReliaCloud, an enterprise-class IT Infrastructure-as-a-Service solution, to provide businesses with a local cloud solution.

Douglas County Commissioner Jill Repella said the board continues to invest in projects that provide a strong economic foundation for Douglas County.

“We believe in providing an environment where businesses can succeed. For this reason, it is a pleasure to team up with OneNeck on their data center build, a project that will certainly add to our community’s economic growth,” Repella said.
