NTT Data, the international IT services provider based in Plano, Texas, has opened a new data center in Costa Rica to support its North American business. The addition of the data center in the capital San Jose strengthens the company’s ability, it believes, to respond quickly to growing client demands.

NTT Data said that it expects to hire more than 100 local graduates and experienced professionals in the first year of its operation. The facility will offer an employee-friendly campus with career advancement and skill development opportunities for employees.

New ground

The San Jose center, the company’s first in Costa Rica, will provide a full range of services targeting healthcare, financial industry and manufacturing clients in North America. With this latest expansion, NTT Data now runs more than 30 service delivery centers in more than 20 countries, including Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.

Alex Mora, Costa Rica’s Minister of Foreign Trade, said, “As a government we are committed to further strengthening the competitive advantages of our country so that more companies like NTT Data will come and export quality services to the world.”

Amir Durrani, executive vice president of Global Delivery at NTT Data, added: “Costa Rica offers the right mix of well-educated, English-speaking talent, and time zone proximity to enable the highest levels of flexibility and agility.”

NTT DATA is one of the world’s largest technology services companies, generating more than $100bn in annual revenues, and partner to 80 percent of the Fortune Global 100.
