Connectivity provider AboveNet will extend its network to connect to the Toronto data center operated by Cologix, the colocation company announced Wednesday.
AboveNet COO Rajiv Datta said Toronto was a clear choice for extending its network in North America because it was the largest metro market in Canada. Cologix operates four data centers in the Toronto building on Front Street.
Expedient to expand in Cleveland
Expedient, a colocation, cloud and managed services provider has started an expansion project at its data center site in Cleveland, Ohio. The addition of 7,000 sq ft of data center floor will nearly double the company’s sellable space at the site.
When the expansion is completed, Expedient’s data center property will total 21,000 sq ft. Its 13,000 sq ft of raised floor will be backed up by four 750kW generators and cooled by a 500-ton cooling infrastructure.
Bluebird takes space in St. Louis
Fiber connectivity provider Bluebird Network has taken space at Digital Realty Trust’s data center site in St. Louis, Missouri. The company will build out its own dedicated facility that will support its network that consists of more than 5,000 route miles.
Bluebird provides broadband services to rural and underserved communities in the US. Networks served out of the St. Louis site will include Missouri Network Alliance, Illinois Network Alliance and Bluebird Media.
Digital’s property in St. Louis is an 18-story building that offers more than 300,000 sq ft of space.
DataBank to build new Dallas data center
Build-to-suit and colocation data center provider DataBank Holdings is planning to build a new data center in northern Dallas, the company announced Wednesday. The facility is expected to come online in the fourth quarter.
The site will consist of multiple pods, built out in phases. This will allow the company to offer customized data halls for customers. The company is expecting the site to have a redundant 10MW utility feed.
