The Infomart building, a tribute to the former Crystal Palace in South London, England, was erected in 1985 for $85m to cater to the city’s growing number of technology companies and to stimulate growth in the industry. It became home to Infomart Data Center’s colocation facilities in 2014, when Infomart merged with Fortune Data Centers. The building also hosts a carrier-neutral Internet exchange in its meet-me-room (MMR).

The expansion, will add 500kW of power to the facility, taking the building closer to its potential capacity of 100MW, and 2 million sq ft  (180,000 sq m).

The facility is designed to Tier III standards and has a reported PUE of 1.37, and offers power at a cost of $0.05/kWh to its customers. The company boasts 100 percent uptime since 2009. The building’s meet-me-room connects over 75 carriers and reportedly offers cross connects free of charge.

A ten year 500,000 sq ft goal was announced by the company in 2014, but this time the company’s statement seemed to refer to the size of the expansion rather than to an end target.
