Enterprise cloud infrastructure provider iland is expanding its footprint into Singapore to address the demands of new and existing customers that require robust global cloud environments.

It will be placing its data center infrastructure inside Pacnet’s CloudSpace II data center (SGCS2).

It said the new location will complement its various data centers throughout the US and UK.

iland is known for its Enterprise Cloud Services (iland ECS), which is positioned towards multinational companies looking to implement cloud strategies that are both easy to manage and scalable around the globe.

According to the company, Iland ECS addresses challenges associated with costs, complexity and compliance by delivering on visibility, performance and personalized support for faster return on investment.

Opened in January this year, Pacnet’s US$90m SGCS2 data center is an eight-storey, 155,000-sq ft standalone facility at Paya Lebar, on the outskirts of the city central.

SGCS2 is the first data center in the country to be recognized with the Uptime Institute’s Tier III Certification of Design Documents. It has also undergone a threat vulnerability risk assessment (TVRA) to ensure it meets the security requirements of the financial services industry as stipulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

SGCS2 was also awarded a GoldPLUS rating in the new Green Mark for Data Center by the country’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore.

The GoldPLUS rating is the equivalent to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification by the US Green Building Council.

Headquartered in Hong Kong and Singapore, Pacnet currently operates 455,000 sq ft of data center space across 14 cities in the region - all of which are connected by its extensive submarine cable system with over 46,000 km of fiber.
