Swiss internet service provider green.ch has acquired 100% of Swiss colo provider Layer One AG with immediate effect.

Layer one, a subsidiary of Init7 Holding AG, has offered rack space and colocation services in green.ch’s Zurich City facility since 2004 and in its Zurich-North data center since 2011.

green.ch operates four data centers in Switzerland – Zurich-West, Zurich- North, Zurich City and Brugg.

Its Zurich-West is the first Swiss data center to be awarded the Uptime Institute Tier III Design Certification.

green.ch has taken over the colo and rack space business from Layer One and will integrate it into its business.

Init7 Holding stated no other business divisions are affected by the take-over.

green.ch’s CEO Franz Grüter said the acquisition will strengthen its presence in the Swiss data center market.
