US data center provider Fortrust has received the Management and Operations Stamp of Approval from the Uptime Institute for its Denver, Colorado, data center.

The certification validates the critical facilities management and operations practices of an existing data center. It provides third-party assurance that the site management satisfies industry standard uptime criteria. It is both an assessment methodology and formal award.

Rich Van Loo, principal of 451 Group-owned Uptime Institute, said Fortrust joined a small group of companies whose data centers have received the award. “Fortrust proved their commitment to operational excellence by not only meeting the M&O Stamp of Approval requirements, but actually scored well above the existing M&O average on a majority of the grading categories which address the fact that management issues are consistently the leading cause of data center downtime.”

Rob McClary, senior VP and general manager of the data center provider, said, the award substantiated Fortrust's high-availability service delivery model. “This is the basis of our organizational and operations strategies that have provided the results that our customers have become accustomed to for well over 12 years,” he said.

“The engagement conducted by Uptime Institute was a both a collaborative and thorough assessment of our management and operations organization.”

Fortrust's data center locations are in Denver, Phoenix and Edison, New Jersey.
