UK cloud provider Exponential-e has increased its reach for cloud customers adding increased connectivity in 12 UK data center to meet demand.

It said it is now providing 132 10Gbps connections over its 100GbE core network across the UK.

Exponential-e CEO Lee Wade said research carried out by Intel estimates show cloud uptake could place a 16-fold increase in demand on networks by 2015.

“We’ve seen an increasing demand for capacity over the past 18 months from customers taking cloud services from us, our partners’ customers and customers of other cloud service providers as they look to ensure that there is no gap between the quality of their cloud services and the connectivity used to access the cloud,” Wade said.

Connectivity is now offered into some of the UK’s largest cloud data centers, Wade said, offering reduced latency and providing better guarantees for packet security.

These include Equinix’s LD1-5 data center and facilities operated by Interxion, Telehouse and Virtus.
